Description
ASGBARBY AND HOWELL HOWELL TF 14 NW 3/13 Howell Hall II House. Early C18, altered and refronted late C18, altered C19. Limestone ashlar, hipped and gabled concrete tiled roofs, 2 ashlar and single yellow brick ridge stacks. L-plan. 2 storey, irregular 5 bay front, the left hand 3 bays are an added early C19 service wing. Off-centre 2 panelled double doors, wood panelled reveals and plain pilastered surround supporting a narrow leaded hood. To left are 3 and to right a single plain sash. To first floor are 5 similar windows. All windows have splayed ashlar lintels with keystones. To right front is a chamfered plinth and 3 plain sashes to each floor. Interior retains an early C18 knopped and turned baluster dog leg staircase and 3 raised and fielded panelled doors, one with H and L hinges. Otherwise the interior is early C19 with decorated plaster ceilings and one white marble fireplace with plain pilasters. Listing NGR: TF1361246251
