Description
BRAUNCEWELL MAIN ROAD TF 05 SW (north side) 3/16 Brauncewell Lodge GV II Farmhouse. Late C17 altered early C19. Coursed rubble with ashlar dressings. Plain tile roofs with 4 red brick gable stacks, and ashlar coped gables. Red brick plinth. Corbel table at eaves, with ashlar chamfered corbels decorated with crosses and hammers. 2 storey. Double range plan. 3 bays. Central door- way with 4 centred arched chamfered surround, with margin light, double glazed doors. Either side are single slightly projecting, 3 light mullion, square bay windows with moulded parapets, each with 3, 4 centred arched sashes. Above 3, 2 light mullion windows in deep chamfered surrounds, each with 2, 4-centred arched sashes with Tudor hoods. To the right, set back a lower 2 storey kitchen wing, with C20 Gothick style fenstration. Interior: C17 chamfered beams, and some contemporary doors, and a C17 resited cupboard in present kitchen.
