Description
1, 5312 LEICESTER STREET (North Side) Westholme (now County Library) TF 0645 1/111 II GV 2. Circa 1849, architect Charles Kirk the younger; builders Kirk and Parry. Large house in Chateau Gothic style, chiefly of 2 storeys in coursed stone with ashlar dressings and steep roofs in Welsh slate with elaborate iron finials. Asymmetrical. Carved cornice, pinnacles, dragon etc. Very tall cylindrical stone stacks. Windows mainly mullion and transom. 4-centred doorway. Plinth. Balustrade to forecourt. Interior:- carved woodwork in entrance hall and stairway. Westholme with former stables and lodge form a group. Listing NGR: TF0647945936
