Description

SKENDLEBY LANGTON LANE TF 46 NW (south side) 8/57 Skendleby Thorpe Farmhouse II Farmhouse. Mid C17 with late C17, C18 and C19 alterations. Red brick. Plain tile roof. Left gable and 2 ridge red brick stacks. Set on a moulded brick plinth. First floor band with first floor lintel band to the single right bay. 2 storey house with single cross wing. 2 storeys, 5 bays. The right single bay projects, is gabled and is 2 storeys plus attic. C19 red brick and pantile porch with dentil eaves, decorative bargeboard, part glazed door and Tudor style hood mould. In each side wall is a single pointed arched light. Either side are single glazing bar sashes, further left is a single small glazing bar sash and further right a single tripartite glazing bar sash. Above are 2 glazing bar sashes with single similar tripartite sash in the gabled bay. Rear with similar projecting single bay to the left. Remains of a first floor band and a rendered plinth. Projecting from the right is a C18 dairy with coped gable and tumbled brickwork. Having a single glazing bar sash with single small 1 planked opening over. To the left is the late C17 lean-to stair turret with single small pointed arched light in the side wall. Further left are 2 doorways now part blocked, the right with single small glazing bar sash, the left with single similar larger sash. On the far left in the projecting bay is a doorway. Above is a single Yorkshire sash with single blocked window opening to the left with Tudor style hood mould. To the right is a single glazing bar Yorkshire sash. In the attic is a single glazing bar Yorkshire sash with the remains of a Tudor style hood mould. Interior has a C17 moulded beam. There are C17 and C18 panelled doors, some with H-L hinges, some with C18 moulded architraves. Listing NGR: TF4268169932
