Description
This list entry was subject to a Minor Amendment on 14 April 2023 to amend the name and address, location details and to reformat the text to current standards TF 47 SW 4/47 WELL WELL VALE PARK Gates and Piers to Well Vale Park (Formerly listed as Gates and Piers to Well Vale Park, beside walled garden) II Gate piers c1730. Ashlar. Two ashlar gate piers in the form of obelisks with fluted circular bases with lions heads. Pineapple knops and on the sides human head masks with dependant foliage and moulded shells. The gate piers formerly stood in the forecourt to Well Hall and were moved in the late C20 to near to the kitchen garden entrance, and again in around 2004 to their present location.
