Description

FULLETBY CHURCH STREET TF 27 SE (north side) 1/7 Church of St. Andrew 14.9.66 G.V. II Parish church. C14, rebuilt 1857 by Maughan and Fowler. Dressed greenstone. Slate roofs. Coped gables. Single stacks to the vestry and north nave. Single decorative ridge crosses to the east nave and east chancel. Set on a chamfered plinth and buttressed. Nave with west bellcote, south porch, chancel and north vestry. Gabled bellcote with 2 arches for bells. West nave window with 3 pointed arched lights the single central light being taller. Hood mould with decorative label stops. The north nave has 3 lancets. Projecting from the north chancel is the vestry with chamfered arched doorway, hood mould and decorative label stops in the west wall. East wall with single arched 2 light window with hood mould and decorative label stops. The east chancel has a single window corresponding to the west nave with hood mould and human head label stops. The south chancel has 3 lancets. The south nave has 2 taller lancets, to the left is the gabled porch with double chamfered arched entrance, hood mould and human head label stops. Inner moulded arched doorway with hood mould and label stops. Interior. Double chamfered chancel arch supported on quatrefoil responds, the central shaft with fillet. South chancel wall with restored C14 sedilia. A single pair of crocketed ogee arches are supported on cluster columns with capitals decorated with single carved human heads. Crocketed finials. East window with chamfered arches supported on circular columns and responds. C19 octagonal ashlar font with decorative panels. Remains of C17 floor slab in the chancel. Listing NGR: TF2982473391
