TF 46 NE WELTON LE MARSH BOOTHBY 5/52 Boothby Hall II Small country house. c.1700, c.1770, extended c.1830, altered late C19. Buff orange brick, red brick dressings, early C19 hipped slate roof with deeply overhanging eaves, moulded baluster brackets. 2 storey, 5 bay front with plinth and first floor band. Central half glazed panelled door with shutters, covered by late C19 ashlar porch with semi-circular archway, pairs of pilasters, moulded cornice and latticed balustrade. To left 2 tall glazing bar sashes and to riqht a later C19 rectangular 2 bay flat roofed extension containing 2 margin light sashes. To first floor 5 glazing bar sashes. All with red brick cambered heads. To the right a late Cl9 conservatory. The left front a central glazing bar sash flanked by single canted 2 storeyed bay windows. Interior has plaster panelled walls, carved chair rail. Eared and moulded fire surround. Eared and shoulder decorated panel over fireplace. Pedimented over doors, eared surrounds and Gothick friezes. Dentillated cornice to stair hall and panelled plaster ceiling. Staircase with wreathed handrail, canted cut string, 2 moulded balusters per tread. Source: Banks Collection Drawing.
