Description
WYHAM CUM CADEBY WYHAM TF 29 NE 1/55 Wyham House 9.3.67 GV II House. Some C14 medieval fabric, extensive early C17 and early C19 remodelling with C19 and C20 additions and alterations. Chalk block, with ironstone and red brick dressings, hipped slate roof and 2 wall stacks. 2 storey, 3 bay front having C20 moulded eaves cornice. Central double half glazed doors with plain overlight and moulded stone architrave, set in a Doric pilastered wooden surround with open pediment flanked by single tall glazing bar sashes to ground. 3 smaller similar windows to first floor. Windows have splayed stucco lintels. The windows have been inserted into an earlier chalk wall and have brick closers to the reveals. To left hand side elevation is a moulded C14 plinth and integral buttress with scar of another. All fene- stration is C20. To right of front is a C20 single storey extension. The stair is lit by a Venetian window in the right hand side elevation. Interior. Early C17 oak stair with large bulbous turned balusters and newels with large ball finials. The medieval fabric may be part of a grange belonging to the Gilbertine Priory of North Ormsby. Listing NGR: TF2769995120
