Description
BELTON & MANTHORPE SK9239 MAIN STREET, Belton 1315-0/8/48 (North side (off)) Sawpit on east side of Belton Estate Woodyard GV II Sawpit. Mid C19. Brick with ashlar dressings and pantile roof. Coped gables with kneelers. Single storey; 2 bays. To the right, a wide opening with wooden valance. To left, a brick bay with a 2-light window. Each gable has a segment headed doorway, that to the right with a pair of board doors. INTERIOR has a lengthwise pit edged with wooden beams. This building was used to cut squared timber from the log by hand sawing. Listing NGR: SK9296439634
