Description
TF 04 SW CULVERTHORPE AND KELBY CULVERTHORPE PARK 4/35 Culverthorpe Temple II* Temple. Shown on the O.S. map as St Bartholomew's Chapel. c.1740. Limestone ashlar. The facade only of a temple comprising a Tetrastyle Ionic portico with pulvinated frieze and dentillated pediment. Behind are central double doors of 8 raised and fielded panels set in a moulded architrave with pulvinated frieze, fluted key block and moulded cornice supported on fluted brackets. Erected as part of the landscaped park for Culverthorpe Hall, for the Newton family. Listing NGR: TF0231540456
