Author/Originator
Date/Year 2005

Abstract/Summary

Archive for the excavation of ten test pits and a trial trench, dug to inform repair works to the kitchen range and parts of the moat walls at Tattershall Castle. The investigations exposed and recorded more of the 15th century kitchen range walls, and revealed that the adjacent moat retaining walls had been extensively rebuilt as part of the early 20th century restoration of the castle. An assemblage of redeposited medieval and post-medieval pottery, brick and tile was also recovered from 20th century deposits within the moat.
