Abstract/Summary
The so called Anglo-Saxon Chronicle is made up of annals written in the monasteries of Winchester, Canterbury, Peterborough Abingdon and Worcester. It was written in English and continued to be compiled for about a century after the Norman invasion. It is a vital source for the history of the Anglo-Saxon period.
