Abstract/Summary
Desk based assessment produced to determine the archaeological implications of the possible creation of a new quarry on land between Eagle Hall Wood and Tunman Wood, Eagle. A group of cropmarks, possibly representing archaeological features of unknown date, were noted within the proposed new quarry area on an aerial photograph.
Subsequent, more detailed analysis of the aerial photographs of this area identified an extensive number of geological features and periglacial fissures across much of the study area, but did not identify any features of clear archaeological origin (see SLI17427). The previously identified features are likely to be of natural, geological origin.
