Description

The archive on an archaeological strip, map and record, coinsisting of a single tranch and larger sample area, was undertaken on land at Ludborough Road, North Thoresby, in order to fufill a condition requirement of Section 25 of the Burial Act 1857. The works revealed three linear ditches, the northernmost ditch contained a further dith on it's north side, running north, while the middle ditch terminated west of the evaluation trench. A series of pits were also uncovered. The excavation trench revelaed the rmains of a human burial, aligned northwest to southeast. Roman pottery and animal bones was recovered as surface finds from unexcavated features.
