Abstract/Summary
Archive for a programme of field walking and geophysical survey conducted on land at Wainfleet All Saints to inform the proposed construction of a new wind farm. Five discrete areas were surveyed. The geophysical survey identified a number of possible ditches or land drains in the centre of the site, as well as a possible ring ditch with a diameter of 15m. Another isolated ring ditch was recorded in the northern area, measuring approximately 12m in diameter. Modern disturbance including land drains, a service and ferrous scatters in the topsoil were noted across the site, and may have masked earlier features. The presence of silted up former stream channels, or roddons, was also noted in the four southern areas. A single possibly worked flint flake and a heavily abraded sherd of possible Prehistoric pottery were recovered during the field walking.
