Description

The archive on a programme of archaeological monitoring and recording, undertaken an land at Fen Road, Holbeach. The work was undertaken prior to a residential development of 38 dwellings on the site. Roman and Early Medieval remains had been identified nearby. A previous archaeological evaluation (ELI13941) on the same site revealed features which indicate medieval domestic activity on the site (MLI126931). A single fragment of a 17th century clay pipe was found during monitoring. The site had been badly disturbed by machine tracking, and no archaeological features were identified. The project was abandoned after two plot were monitored.
