Author/Originator
Date/Year 2016

Abstract/Summary

Archive for an archaeological excavation conducted on land at Holdingham, Sleaford, as mitigation prior to the construction of a residential and care home development. Four areas were excavated, focusing on features identified during prior geophysical survey (ELI14206) and trial trenching (ELI14214). In the western area, the presence of a post-Medieval field boundary seen on historic mapping and a Medieval ditch identified during trial trenching was noted. In the eastern areas, a pit containing hearth waste of possible Mesolithic date, a Mid to Late Iron Age penannular ditch, and two undated ditches were encountered.
