Abstract/Summary
Archive for a programme of archaeological evaluation comprising eighteen trial trenches excavated on land at Manor Farm, Irby in the Marsh, prior to the proposed construction of a solar farm. An Iron Age ditch and pit/ditch terminus were identified. Two undated ditches nearby were assumed to be of a similar date. None of these features were identified in the prior geophysical survey, perhaps due to the similar consistency between their fills and the subsoil. Post-Medieval field boundaries previously identified by the geophysical survey and on historic mapping were also noted.
