Abstract/Summary

Heritage statement produced to inform proposed conservation works to Newsham Bridge, to the north of Brocklesby. The bridge was built in 1833-6, to the design of James Willson, a Lincoln architect and architectural historian. It is approximately 30m in length, being built of white limestone ashlar, although brick is used for the concealed extrados of the arches. It has five principal arches, with additional land arches at both ends.
