Title E-mail about the old vicarage in Tealby
Author/Originator
Date/Year 2017

Abstract/Summary

The Enclosure map of Tealby from 1793 places the original Vicarage buildings on plot 251 immediately north of the Church, on church land. By 1888 (on OS map) the old vicarage building is apparently still there as "Glebe Cottage", with some additional buildings not previously shown on the Enclosure map. It was probably downgraded to alternative use after the new Tealby vicarage was built in Caistor Lane. Today the old vicarage plot is devoid of any surface features, and all that is left of the Glebe Cottage collection of buildings is an old barn-like stone structure in the field next door that appears to have been renovated in the past year or so.
