Archive for the excavation of three trial trenches, dug to inform a proposed extension to Copper Hill Quarry, Ancaster. The trenches were targeted to investigate a number of geophysical anomalies recorded by a prior magnetometry survey (see ELI11028), and resolved all of the recorded magnetic anomalies as being either modern disturbance or of natural geological origin. No archaeological features, deposits or finds were encountered.
