Abstract/Summary

I have a letter from my grandfather to his wife where he puts Pye Hall as his billet address [A Co. 5th Reserve]. Born 1895. He was a Sergeant Musketry instructor in the Notts & Derby Regt..having been a CQMS. A little more is added in the inscription of a presentation cigarette case...to Sgt. L R Middleton from Grainthorpe V.T.C. Thanks etc. [The VTC was the Voluntary Training Corps a volunteer home defence militia during the First World War.]
