Abstract/Summary

Archive for the excavation of two trial trenches, dug to inform proposed residential development on land off Hall Lane, Burgh le Marsh. Two linear features, thought to represent former field boundaries, were recorded, one of which was dated to between the mid 5th to 9th century. Several redeposited artefacts were also recovered including a medieval pottery sherd, a possible Roman whetsone and a small number of prehistoric flints, one of which may be of Upper Palaeolithic date.
