Abstract/Summary
                Report on a watching brief, conducted during groundworks associated with residential development at 51-53 North Street, Gainsborough. A wall foundation tentatively dated to the medieval period was the earliest feature uncovered. A sequence of made ground layers containing medieval pottery were also seen as well as post-medieval remains. Remains of an early modern lane or alley surface were also encountered.
