Full Description

A base sherd of early Roman sandy ware pottery was recovered in May 2011, during systematic field walking along selected parts of the proposed Covenham Water Treatment Works to Boston Transfer pipeline. The sherd had six holes, 4mm in diameter in two curving rows, and a grooved foot ring, and was thought to have formed part of a strainer or colander. {1}{2}
