Full Description

An unstratified medieval pilgrim badge was recovered during monitoring works for the installation of a new water pipeline between Harrowby and Easton. The badge is of copper-alloy and appears to depict St Barbara, although the piece is quite worn. The object shows a figure standing alongside a tower. The figure holds a sacramental wafer in their right hand, and what appears to be a palm frond on their left side. The badge measures 25mm by 15mm and has a loop on the reverse to allow it to be attached to a piece of clothing. {1}{2}
