Both artefacts were of copper alloy, and were thought to date from the 13th or 14th centuries. The brooch measured 28mm in diameter, with part of the pin remaining, and at least five raised collets for some kind of stone or glass ornaments, though all were now missing. The button was just 8mm in diameter, with a polished tin surface. {1}{2}
