Full Description

A Congregational chapel was built in 1824, at a cost of £2,200, on Chapel Street, Little Gonerby, Grantham. The chapel closed in 1856, but was bought by the Free Methodists for £760, and reopened with seating for 380. The building was closed and demolished in 1956 to make way for road widening. {1}{2}{3} The building is depicted on an 1887 town map of Grantham, where it is labelled as a United Free Methodist Chapel. It is labelled as having 'Seats for 500', suggesting the building was extended or re-organised after its sale to the Free Methodists. {4}
