Full Description

The chapel currently in use in Thurlby dates from 1912, but it was not the first chapel on the site; the 1904 OS map shows a chapel. It is unknown when this earlier chapel was built. The 1912 chapel was built to a design by William Hinson of Stamford and seated 200. A hall was added to the rear in 1977. The building is of red brick with stone dressings. It has stone pointed-headed window and door arches with stone hood mouldings. There are stone string courses, quoining and kneelers. It has a gabled roof with a raised gable with stone coping to the frontage. There are decorative buttresses to the corners. {1}{2}{3}
