Full Description
A ditch containing Roman pottery and a fragment of slag was excavated in 2012, during an evaluation to inform the proposed construction of a new water treatment works, to the south-west of Newton on Trent. It was thought that the ditch might represent part of a Roman field system associated with the adjacent Roman fort. {1}{2}
