Full Description

Known as the Hill Chapel or the Little Chapel. The Chapel is recorded as a Free Methodist chapel on early OS maps and later as a United Methodist Chapel. This chapel closed in 1946 and was then used as a house and then as a farm store. It was demolished in 1978 and a new dwelling was built in its place. A photograph shows that it was built of brick with a hipped roof with a slate covering. It had a broad 3-bay front with segmental-headed sash windows and a round-arched doorway. The side elevations had 2 bays. This is probably the chapel recorded by Stell as a former Wesleyan Reform Chapel. Brick with hipped slate roof, windows altered, formerly with round-arched heads. Inscription on semi-circular tablet above entrance "1866 WESLEYAN [altered to UNITED] REFORM CHAPEL". {1}{2}
