Full Description
A former Wesleyan Methodist chapel, built in 1838. White stated that 'The Wesleyans have a neat Gothic chapel in the village'. The chapel is depicted on the 1st edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey map of 1888, located on the western side of Chapel Lane. The chapel is not depicted on the 1905 2nd edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey map, suggesting it was demolished soon after the new Wesleyan chapel was constructed on Redhill Lane, in 1896 {see PRN 48836}. A Wesleyan school, possibly a Sunday School, appears to have been held here; it was labelled beside the chapel on the 1st edition OS, and was mentioned in White's. {1}{2}{3}{4}{5}{6}
