Full Description

This chapel was built in 1820 as a Primitive Methodist chapel. It was later sold to the Baptists, possibly in 1837, as a new Primitive Methodist chapel opened in Alford that year. It is not labelled as a chapel on any OS maps, so it likely fell out of use before 1889. The building is of yellow and red brick, and has a hipped roof with modern pantiles. The building has been heavily altered, with numerous bricked-in apetures and completely new modern windows. It seems like the original window arches were segmental-headed. There is a considerable amount of handmade brick to the rear, possibly the only remnants of the original fabric. The building is now in use as a house. {1}{2}{3}{4}
