Full Description
An infilled curvilinear field boundary ditch of probable early/mid 19th century date was recorded during a watching brief, conducted during the groundworks phase of construction for a new dwelling at The Bungalow, The Raceground, Spalding. The ditch ran in an arc from the south to the north-east, and appeared to continue on an alignment that would take it under the adjacent railway line. The ditch had a single waterlogged basal deposit, very likely the result of late 19th century backfilling, prior to the construction of the railway, though no finds were recovered. {1}{2}
