Full Description

Toynton Fenside Chapel first appears in a list of chapels in the Louth Circuit in 1867; it is not mentioned in the 1855 Census so it was probably built in the interevening period. The building is of red brick and has a gabled roof with a wooden finial and decorative barge boards. The window arches to the frontage are round-headed and of stone, with protruding decorative keystones. To the sides the window arches are segmental-headed and of rubbed red brick. The doorway is square-headed with a stone lintel. The chapel is marked on OS maps of the 1950s, but not on those of the 1970s, suggesting that it had closed by then. The building was subseqently converted into a house. {1}{2}{3}
