Full Description

Sotby Methodist chapel was initially built in 1836 as a Wesleyan Methodist chapel with seating for 60. It closed in 1855 and was sold to the United Methodist Free Church in 1860. They rebuilt the chapel on the same site in 1894 to seat 140. The chapel closed in 1980 and the building currently stands empty. The building is of red brick and has a gabled roof. Windows to (pebbledashed) frontage are modern, but the other windows are original, although most of the glass has failed. Inside the original terracotta tile floor remains, with pews and a piano in situ. The building is in poor condition and the chimney to the rear looks particularly precarious. {1}{2}{3}{4}
