Full Description

The Mablethorpe Primitive Methodist society moved from their old chapel on Quebec Road to the Victoria schoolrooms in 1887. In 1909 a 275-seat chapel was added. It was damaged in the Second World War and by flooding in 1953, after which the chapel was restored, altered and renamed St Peter's. The building is of red brick and has a gabled roof. The schoolroom is on the south side of the chapel, and although it is now part of the building it remains distinct and is now St Peter's Community Hall. The main chapel features an elaborate frontage with a raised gable, stone dressings, pinnacles and a large stained-glass window with gothic tracery. {1}{2}{3}
