Protected Status/Designation

Full Description

Two parallel ditches, running in a north to south direction, were identified during analysis of aerial photographs in 2010. They were visible as cropmarks, to the south-west of Newton on Trent. Their date remains uncertain; whilst the ditches are on the same alignment as the eastern-most side of the adjacent Roman fort, the cropmarks were not visible on the same aerial photographs as those that show the fort and outworks, and are perhaps of a more recent origin. {1}
