Full Description
A probable post-medieval drainage ditch was identified during analysis of aerial photographs in 2010. It was visible as a cropmark, to the south-west of Newton on Trent. {1}
This feature was recorded during a magnetometry survey, conducted in March 2011, in advance of the proposed construction of a new water treatment works to the south-west of Newton on Trent. The feature was reocrded an an east to west aligned linear magnetic anomaly, though it was interpreted as the remains of medieval ridge and furrow. {2}{3}
