Summary
An undated rectilinear enclosure, visible as cropmarks and soilmarks, at Spalding Common.
Type and Period (1)
- RECTILINEAR ENCLOSURE (Unknown date)
Protected Status/Designation
- None recorded
Full Description
A rectilinear enclosure is visible as cropmarks and soilmarks on recent air photographs (viewed via Google Maps). The enclosure measures about 70m by 50m across, and appears to have a number of internal linear divisions. Whilst no conclusive date for the enclosure can be given, its shape and dimensions would suggest a Romano-British or medieval date, rather than prehistoric. {1}
