Full Description

A former floor surface was revealed during the excavation of a trial trench, dug to inform proposed development at Winceby House, Slash Lane, Winceby. A sherd of 17th or 18th century date was recovered from immediately above the surface, indicating that the former floor surface is of post-medieval date. The presence of the surface would suggest that some form of structure, such as a yard or cellar, was on the site prior to the construction of the present Winceby House. {1}{2}
