Full Description

Two trial trenches, excavated by CLAU in April 1996, recorded evidence for medieval occupation of this site. Pottery finds and possible wall foundations were recorded, along with small fragments of bone and tile. It is likely that a period of dereliction followed the medieval occupation, before the site was levelled and raised in the late 14th/early 15th century. {1}{2}
