Full Description
Several small ditch and gully features were recorded during trial trenching at Tallington. Of possible Iron Age or Romano-British date, though no finds or dating evidence was recovered. The ditches measured between 0.12m and 0.5m deep; their shallowness would suggest a use as drains, rather than stock management. None of the ditches appeared to have been re-cut which would reflect only short-term use or low intensity exploitation of this land. {1}{2}
