Full Description
A scatter of abraded Roman pottery from a field south of South Hykeham village. The scatter was in an area of the field near to the old course of the River Witham on a slight rise that has a more sandy sub soil. There were more than 30 sherds including greyware and one piece of colour coated ware. The pottery was picked up by two local residents intermittently over a period of about five years. There was a lithic scatter in the same area (see PRN 65787). {1}
