Summary
Part of a medieval wall with a thin loophole window, at North Street, Stamford. Possibly originally formed part of the medieval town walls of Stamford.

Full Description
On the south side of North Street there is an arrow slit or loop opening, clearly medieval in date. It is unlikely that such a feature would have been saved if the wall - at the rear of a property and now forming the north wall of an outbuilding - had been rebuilt. The masonry around the loop looks medieval and the wall stands on the line of the medieval town walls, of which it perhaps formed a part. {1}{2}
