Full Description

A hoard of sixteenth century silver coins was found in Bardney in May 1844 and reported in the Lincoln Rutland and Stamford Mercury. The find spot is elusive. The coins probably included groats of Henry VIII and perhaps smaller coins of Edward IV. The hoard was probably deposited sometime between 1509 and the 1540s. {1}
