Full Description
During a set piece excavation along the route of the A1073 improvement scheme an L-shaped ditch was found which has been interpreted as a stock enclosure, an interpretation supported by the environmental evidence. The ditch contained pottery from the 12th to the 14th century. The environmental evidence also indicated that it was regularly maintained and well removed from habitation. A 14th to 15th century ditch was recorded immediately above the stock enclosure containing pottery sherds. {1}{2}
