Full Description
There was a late Roman pottery industry in the Swanpool area of Lincoln. It is an extensive area of industrial pottery production to the south-west of the Roman walled town of Lincoln with at least seven kilns identified. One kiln was archaeologically excavated in 1945 but there have been extensive finds of pottery sherds and kiln debris on this area since the mid nineteenth century. {1}{2}
