Full Description

Trial trenches were excavated by Archaeological Project Services in December 2010 on land off Churchgate, Whaplode. A pond-like feature was revealed which contained 19th century pottery, clay pipe, glass, nails, part of a medieval or post medieval stone trough and two fragments of residual medieval pottery [see PRN 25717]. Refuse pits, a possible pit and three post holes, all probably post medieval in date were also found. {1}{2}
