Full Description
Fieldwalking was undertaken by Archaeological Project Services along the route of the Lincoln Eastern Bypass in November 2008. A small quantiity of medieval pottery and ceramic building material was found at this site. {1}{2}
Trial trenching was undertaken by Archaeological Project Services along the route of of the Lincoln Eastern Bypass in 2008. In Parcel J, a ditch which contained a sherd of 13th to 15th century pottery, ceramic building material and animal bone was found. A pit or ditch terminus containing 13th to 15th roof tile and animal bone, a ditch containing 14th to 15th tile and pottery, animal bone and 9th to 10th century pottery [see PRN 65741], a pit containing medieval pottery, animal bone and mid 9th to 10th century pottery [see PRN 65741] and a post hole containing a 13th century iron blade, a rectangular iron bar and animal remains was also found. {3}{4}
